Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 20: Activists of Dogra Youth staged a protest against the makers of the newly released web series ‘Tandav’ for allegedly hurting religious sentiments of Hindu community and demanded a ban on it.
The protest was led by Bhanu Partap Singh Goria alongwith others under the supervision of Partap Singh Jamwal (Poltical Activist).
Aggressive protesters raised slogans "Web Series ko Ban karo Ban karo", "Hindu ki Aastha k saath Khilwad Bandh Karo Bandh Karo", "Dharm ka apmaan nhi sahyega Hindusthan", and strongly demanded a ban on the web series ‘Tandav’ and also burnt an effigy of actor and director of the said web series.
Addressing the media, Partap Singh Jamwal said that it has become a habit of the filmmakers in our country to insult Hindu gods and goddesses. Those making such films and web series are taking the saints and devotees of gods and goddesses too lightly.
They have to be reminded that saints and people will now not tolerate this act of making mockery of their religion and deities.
Partap further added that the makers of this series should keep in mind that all religions have to be equally respected in the country.
During the protest, Bhanu said that Hindu gods and goddesses have been insulted in the web series ‘Tandav’ and it should be banned. He demanded to the govt. Strict action should be taken against the actor, director and producer of the web series.
Bhanu appealed to Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar to ban the series, alleging that it hurts religious sentiments. Other who were present including Arun Mehra, Akash meenia, vishal gupta, sundanan sharma, sumit kumar, Naresh kumar, Lakshay Kumar, Nikhil Sharma and others.
