Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris hold meet

RAMBAN, Jan 21: An Ex-servicemen cum Veer-Nari meet was organised by the Rashtriya Rifles at Maitra in Ramban today.
During the meet as many as 209 ex-servicemen,35 widows of soldiers and 3 Veer Naries were present.
On the occasion,the officers from Army,Zila Sainik Board(ZSB), Defence Pension Disbursing Office (DPDO) and State Bank of India (SBI) viz., Col. Debadutta Swain, Lt. Col. (Retd.) Purshotam Lal, Sanjive Kumar Swami and Rajesh Tigga respectively awared the ex-servicemen, Veer Naries and soldiers' widows about the various re-employment and welfare schemes.
Maj. Dinesh Kumar and Col. (Retd.) Bharat Singh also educated the beneficiaries on related subjects. Their grievances were also heard patiently and redressed by officers of ZSB,DPDO and SBI in special stalls meant for purpose.
A medical camp was organised for needy beneficiaries wherein Regimental Medical Officers Maj.(Dr.)Avinash Giri and Capt.(Dr.)Tamanna examined them and given free medicines.
An Army Canteen was organised wherefrom the beneficiaries purchased various goods at cheaper rates. An interaction session was also held between the beneficiaries and the authorities present. At last all invited beneficiaries were given gifts.
