JMC organizes IEC Programme on Solid waste management

Jammu, Dec 21: In order to streamline the Solid waste Management process in the Jammu City, Under the Chairmanship of Honourable Mayor JMC Chandermohan Gupta, Deputy Mayor Adv. Purnima Sharma, Commissioner JMC Avny lavasa (IAS) and overall supervision of Tinna Mahajan (KAS), Secretary JMC/Nodal Officer SBM, Swacch Bharat Committee, Sanitation Committee, the Jammu Municipal Corporation has started a massive awareness campaign in the Jammu city to aware the people regarding the need and importance of Solid Waste Management. In this regard, various programmes and Interactive sessions were held in the month of December.
The Programmes include: Workshop on IEC (Information Education & Communication) Campaign with JMC Staff in the Council Hall under the chairmanship of Honourable Mayor Sh. Chandermohan Gupta, Honourable Deputy Mayor Adv. Purnima sharma Chairman Swacch Bharat Committee Suraj Parkash ji and Commissioner JMC Avny Lavasa on 5 December 2020. The Sanitation Officers along with Supervisors were trained by JMC Officials regarding their Roles and Responsibilities. More then 90 people were trained and were awared to work as per SWM Rules and impliment the same in the feild.
The Jammu Municipal Corporation has also started a massive task of Door to Door awareness of Households, Commercial Establishments, Industrial Establishments in all 75 wards and the work is initiated in 75 wards of Jammu City. More than 22000 Households have been surveyed till now along with door to door awarness of Solid waste management. In this whole process, the information regarding the need of segregation of solid waste will be communicated to the citizens.
