Failed regimes hit JK hard
1/22/2021 10:29:24 PM

JK Cements turning into a sick unit from a profit making company during the PDP led regime is just a tip of the iceberg. During the PDP rule from 2015 to 2018 many units and corporations turned defunct due to the alleged wrong policies of the government.
The JK Cements suffered a loss of Rs 1.26 crore and turned into a non-functional unit as the people at the top failed to pay attention towards the company till it went into a complete loss.
Prior to 2015 the JK Cements had emerged as a strong competitor for the private cement companies. The JK cement was one of the popular brands in the erstwhile state. But just within 3-year time company lost its capacity to cater to the market.
These facts would have never come to fore but after J&K's transition into a Union Territory skeletons are tumbling out. These things have surprised many people. Not many people knew that the PDP led regime failed to even spend a single penny from the funds that were sanctioned by the Centre for J&K's development. Expenses were incurred on such things that were not necessary.
Since August 5, 2019, the Centre has taken direct control of Jammu and Kashmir and the pace of development works has picked up manifolds.
Appointment of Manoj Sinha as the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir is helping the Union Territory to stand on its own feet. The wrongs that were committed by the political regimes in the erstwhile state are being undone. LG Sinha is leading from the front. He has kept the entire administration on toes. Proposals are being sought to revive the sick units and every possible effort is being made to put the system back on rails.
Former rulers should introspect and ask themselves why they were unable to develop J&K on the desired lines. Why did they fail to live upto the expectations of the masses? Had they concentrated on the jobs that were assigned to them, J&K would not have suffered nor would have the profit making companies ended up in a loss. The politicians had to play a major role but they tried to keep the Centre and the people busy by raising such issues that had got nothing to do with development, peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir.
