RAJOURI, Jan 22: Mahila Shaskt Kendra Rajouri today organized series of awareness activities to mark the National Girl Child Week.
Painting/drawing and poetry competitions were held in all the schools of Rajouri as the District Administration has launched the one week-long special campaign under 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao'. The activities under week long celebration of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao was kick started with a pledge taking ceremony at Government Girls Modal Higher Secondary School, Rajouri.
Women Welfare Officer, Dr. Anum Mirza that the advocacy campaigns like BETI BACHAO BETI PADHAO focus on to bring about a transformational shift in the way our Society looks at the girl child. She also said that there should be a strong emphasis on mindset change through training, sensitization, awareness events in schools and Community mobilization on the ground. Several students participated in the competition and were given prizes by the department.
The MSK teams also made the students aware regarding various schemes under NHM such as Janani Shishu Surakshya Karyakram, Janani Surakshya Yojana, Village Health and Nutrition Day and the role of SHGs under SRLM. They also spoke about the up-gradation of the education system under Samagra Shikshya Abhiyan and the New Education Policy, 2020 and also pointed on the many scholarships offered by Union Education Ministry. |
