JAMMU, Jan 22: Jammu Police has solved sensational murder case of an ATM security guard, who was killed last night in Nanak Nagar area, by arresting two Kashmiri youth, who have confessed their crime.
Addressing media persons at Gandhi Nagar Police Station, SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil told that the murder case was solved in 14 hours and both accused persons have been arrested. “Both accused Mohd Kaif Lone son of Sartaz Ahmed Lone and Vilkas Bashir Lone son of Bashir Ahmed Lone, resident of Ashtengoo Aloosa, Bandipora have been arrested. They have confessed their involvement in the instant case, the motive behind the commission of crime was theft”, the district Police Chief told the media.
He said that yesterday it was learnt that at about 8 pm some unknown persons have murdered a security guard of an ATM in Sector 13, Nanak Nagar Jammu. “The victim was identified as Raju Sharma son of Golu Ram Sharma resident of New Plot, Prem Nagar, Jammu who was deployed as guard at the ATM of J&K Bank. The dead body was lying inside the rest room of the ATM. The said deceased has been murdered with sharp edged weapons (Kirch) by the accused”, he said, adding that on this information a case FIR No. 16/2021 U/S 302 IPC, 4/25 A Act has been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
“During the course of investigation SHO, Police Station Gandhi Nagar accompanied by IO of the case collected CCTV footage, analyzed the same and thereafter conducted raids at all the possible hide outs of the culprits, whose visual were seen under the close supervision of SDPO City South and SP South Jammu”, Patil said.
He said that in the CCTV footage the accused persons are seen trying to break the ATM Machine. “Deceased Raju Sharma, being a guard of the ATM restricted them from doing so, but they attacked him with fist and blow, causing his death on the spot. After the commission of crime, the accused fled away from the spot who were arrested by the Police after hectic efforts”, he added. The SSP Jammu was accompanied by SP South Deepak Digra, SDPO South DySP Purshottam Mengi, SHO Gandhi Nagar, Gurnam Singh, Incharge Police Post Warehouse Insp Sumeet Sharma and other Police officers and officials.
