Dy Mayor distributes free dustbins to shopkeepers

JAMMU, Jan 22: Deputy Mayor JMC Purnima Sharma today distributed free dustbins to the commercial shops of ward no. 11.
Speaking on the occasion, Purnima Sharma said that taking cleanliness as our first priority, Jammu Municipal Corporation is providing free of cost dustbins to the shopkeepers of Ward no. 11 and appealed to them to throw the garbage in the dustbins only and not outside in drains or lanes and only to handover the garbage to the Sanitation workers when they come collect that garbage. She also appreciated all the stake holders and IEC team for awaring the public.
Stating some important facts regarding the initiative and solid waste management, she said that all the citizens of Jammu are to take part in swachta sarvekshan 2021.The main objective of the swachta sarvekshan survey is to ensure citizen participation in solid waste management and making jammu city garbage free and open defecation free.
Parveen Kerni(mandal president), Rajinder Babu, president Shopkeepers Welfare Association Super Bazar, Surinder Gupta(chairman, Purani Mandi), Ankush Sharma and team IEC, team of Ward President and booth president and other prominent members of ward no. 11 were also present.
