Give mass promotion to Jammu students on analogy of Kashmir: NPSU

JAMMU, Jan 22: "While the college students of Kashmir have been given mass promotion during the currency of corona pandemic, it was strange to find the students of Jammu region being denied the said concession and rather governed under a different set of norms within the same Union Territory".
This was stated by Raj Pratap Singh provincial president, National Panthers Students Union, Jammu province. Why have the students of Jammu region been refused mass promotion despite we too belonging to J&K UT, questioned Raj.
We have undergone similar problems and encountered even more severe difficulties during the corona period as compared to our Kashmir counterparts in view of huge influx of outsiders in Jammu region, said Raj Pratap Singh.
"The academic activity had come to a standstill in the educational institutions in Jammu with online studies also having been adversely affected due to ban on 4G mobile internet services".
"The students of Jammu region too have suffered. It was however shocking that even students were being treated differently on the basis of region and place of residence. How could the govt justify such on obnoxious decision discriminating between the students on regional basis? Such a regional bias was reflective of the highly polarized and sick mindset of the present rulers for which the BJP govt was answerable to the students of Jammu region", asserted Raj Pratap Singh.
Accusing the present regime of having included even the students of Jammu region within the ambit of its discriminatory policies, the NPSU leader cautioned a region wide agitation in case the govt failed to provide justice to the Jammu students who were seeking party with their Kashmir peers.
Calling upon the students to unite for the common cause, Pratap regretted the indifference shown by various political parties towards the bias perpetuated against Jammu region which had now engulfed even the education sector affecting the academic career of the students of the region as well. He appealed to various student organizations of Jammu region to come forward on a common platform to aggressively respond to all discriminatory moves of the present govt.
