Jammu, Jan 23: The Resistance Front (TRF) has claimed the responsibility of Kishtwar grenade attack in which a cop was injured while in-charge Special Operation Group escaped unhurt. The incident occurred after militants lobbed the grenade on police gypsy in Dadpath area of Kishtwar district that miss the target.
Senior police official told the Early Times that TRF claimed the responsibility of grenade attack on a police party in Kishtwar on Friday. TRF claims that 2021 will be deadliest for Indian government forces in Jammu and Kashmir. Senior police official added that the search operation that was launched following the terror attack is continuing.
“We have cordoned all the escape routes—let’s hope that the culprits involved in this heinous crime will be traced” the official added. The intelligence sources told Early Times that the local youth from Keshwan Mohammad Saleem who joined the militancy in Shopian last October has been seen in the area and cannot rule out his hand behind yesterday terror attack.
“We have report about his presence in the area with some other South Kashmir based militants— and this newly created group might be the one behind the Dadpath terror attack” the sources added. The sources said that after successful conduct of DDC elections in the area, the militants are desperately looking forward to revive militancy in the area by recruiting the local youths so that they can carry on with subversive activities in Chenab valley that has witnessed no major terror related incident following the killing of top rank militant commander Osama Javed and Haroon Abbas Wani.
