PAGD was formed for personal gains, BJP only hope for Valley: Parneesh
1/23/2021 11:19:48 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 23: The split in the People Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) has once again proved that regional political parties in Kashmir have continued their agenda of deceiving people of Valley for their personal gains, Parneesh Mahajan, Convenor Department of Training, BJP, J&K said today.
Reacting to People's Conference chief Sajjad Lone decision to quit the alliance of various political parties which was formed last year ahead of District Development Council elections, Mahajan said that time and again, it has been proved that the Bharatiya Janata Party is the only political option for the people or Jammu and Kashmir for the holistic progress and development of the region.
"The day these regional parties of Valley comprising National Conference, Peoples Democratic Party and CPI(M) among others had joined hands, they had done so only to fight against the Bharatiya Janata Party government. These parties were slapped in the face by the public when the BJP still managed to emerge as the single largest party in the DDC elections besides bagging the highest vote share," said Mahajan in a statement issued here.
"These parties came together and lied to the people that their alliance was for the people. In reality, they had formed the alliance for their selfish personal gains at the cost of public interest. With the elections now over, these parties have started showing their true colors," said Mahajan.
Sajjad Lone's People Conference is only the first. You will see other parties leaving the PAGD alliance soon, he said.
Criticising the Valley-based parties for looting people of Kashmir over the decades, the senior BJP leader said that the public in Valley now knows the truth and their recent support in the DDC elections shows that.
"The only hope for Kashmiris right now is Bharatiya Janata Party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will continue the strong wave of development and strong governance in the years to come," he said.
