Fee Regulation Committee serves notice to school after complaints of violation
1/23/2021 11:43:15 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORT
jammu, Jan 23: Despite the Supreme Court directives and guidelines some private educational institutions charge exorbitant fee much more than prescribed norms from students which has generated a lot of public resentment in J&K and parents of the students have sought action agains such schools and their management.
While expressing the concern the parents and some social organisations have said that Government has fixed s guideline for fee and fixed the norms but in violation of these prescribed norms some private schools charge highest fee from students seeking admission there on the name of development charges which is highly illegal and objectionable.
However taking cognisance of violating the norms Committee for fixation and regulation of fee and other norms for the children has served a notice to School Principal for violating the norms prescribed for the fee.
The Committee in its notice served to school management while taking serious exception of violating the norms the Committee has summoned the Principal of the School and other concerned in its office on January 27 to explain its position. It had also asked the complainants to reach the office on the same day to present the case.
It its notice the Committee has also asked the school management to charge the fee as per the guidelines of Supreme Court issued in November last year and report compliance within three days time. The Committee termed charging of admission fee illegal and has urged the School management to give admission to the wards of complainant.
Earlier one person had approached the school seeking admission for three children in LKG, 6th an 7th Class and the management demanded Rs one lakh and two thousand and seven hundred fee per child which was resisted by parent staying it was a total violation of SC norms. The parent later made a complaint with the Government Committee framed for regulation of fee which served notice to concerned school.
