Shah Faesal's new avtar | | | Shah Faesal, IAS topper from Jammu and Kashmir, who after quitting prestigious gov-ernment job had joined politics and later said goodbye to the misadventure he had indulged in seems desperate to get his job back. Since the day COVID-19 vaccination drive has commenced, he has been hailing the Centre's initiative and the way drive is being managed. "This is more than just a vaccination program. It's good governance + human capital formation + nation building + India assuming global leadership as a Jagat Guru", Shah Faesal had tweeted while reacting to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi's tweet. He is same Shah Faesal, who after tendering his resignation had claimed that as a government servant he felt choked and was unable to do anything for his people. On the launch of his political party, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM), Faesal had stated that now he is free to do anything for the masses. But during his stint as a head of a political party he couldn't do much for the people and ended up serving detention after the Centre revoked J&K's special status and bifurcated the erstwhile State into two union territories on August 5, 2019. Soon after the Centre announced its decision, Shah Faesal had tried to leave the country but he was arrested from the airport. After his release Faesal announced his decision to quit politics and drooped enough hints about him being ready to join the administration. Till date his resignation has not been accepted and he is hoping that luck will favour him. Till now the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has maintained silence over the issue. Faesal during his stint as a politician left no stone unturned to attack the BJP led government at the Centre and at one point of time it had appeared that he wants to toe the line of separatists like Hurriyat hawk Syed Ali Shah Geelani. But after serving the detention he tried to drive home a point that he is a nationalist and has got nothing to do with the separatists and their politics. His decision to say goodbye to his party has helped him in remaining aloof from the activities that have taken place after the political process has been revived in Kashmir. At present Faesal's only concern seems that he should get his job back. It appears that the Centre may oblige him as it looks like that he has learnt from his past mistakes. |
