PEECC to protest on 3rd February against non-holding of DPCs, privatization of power

Jammu, Jan 25: The coordination committee leaders Power Employees under the banner of Power Employees and Engineers coordination committee [PEECC] today decried the delay in the conducting of DPCs of the daily wagers/need based/technical and the clerical cadres by the officers at the helm of affairs.
The delay in holding the DPC meetings is creating a deep sense of dissatisfaction and anger among the cadres down the line and jeopardizing the progress of the developmental activities. The workers at the ground level are feeling dejected over the inordinate delay in the convening of the DPC meetings in accordance with the provisions of SRO-381 of Power Development department.
The member’s highlighted that there are nearly 10000 promotion cadre vacancies within the technical and clerical cadres across Jammu and Kashmir which can be easily filled through the regular DPCs and there exist no bottlenecks withholding the process. The Technician-III who came into department in 1998 continue to remain on same position leading to feeling of alienation and dissatisfaction among this care of nearly 5000 employees.
The cadres of Revenue clerks/draftsman, clerical cadres are also awaiting their DPCs since years.The department has failed to fully utilize the sanctioned strength and create ways and avenues for meeting the aspirations of the employees by regular DPCs.
The PEECC now in accordance with the call of National Coordination committee of electricity employees and engineers [NOCCEE] for observing National Protest day on February 3rd 2021 against the privatization policies of Central Government and non- regularization of daily wagers, contract employees shall observe complete sit in protest in Power Development department complex Canal Road Jammu and members from other district headquarters in large numbers shall also join in the protest in Jammu on 3rd February 2021.
Various unions of PDD led by Sachin Tickoo, convenor PEECC and general Secretary JKEEGA, Jaipal Sharma, president DEA, Sanjeev Bali, president PPEU, Anil Slathia, lineman and workers union, H.D Singh, TEF, Tarun Gupta, president PDEU, Balbir Singh draftsman Asso., Jasbir Singh ITI Employees, Kulbir Singh, EEU among others joined the press conference today .
