Jammu to host All India Mushaira, Kavi Sammelan on Jan 27, 28

Jammu, Jan 25: To celebrate the 72nd Republic Day, the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, in collaboration with Radio Mirchi, to hold a two-day mega poetry event at summer capital, here on January 27 and 28. Country's top Hindi and Urdu poets, Bollywood lyricists and writers will be in Jammu on invitation.
Munir ul Islam, Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, addressing a press conference, here said that the gala event will be organised at Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu and top dignitaries of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory are expected to participate in this first-ever national event of its-own-kind. He said Lt Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha will be the Chief Guest on January 27. He said, "We are also providing a platform and have received 450 entries from Jammu and Kashmir." After adjudging each entry, 10 young poets have been chosen by adjudicators from Urdu and Hindi to recite their poetry during the event and interact with senior poets. "This year, we have added young poets to this national event whose poetic creations adjudged best in the competition," he added. Distinguished poets who have given their consents to be the art of these event in All India Mushaira includes, Wasim Barelvi, Manzar Bhobali, Nawaz Deobandhi, Kunwar Javed, Khushbu Sharma, Ana Dehlvi, Pritpal Singh Betab, Balraj Bakhshi, Dr Liaqat Jafri, Dr Shafaq Sopori, Dr Nazir Azad, Ms. Rukhsana Jabeen. He added that in Kavi Sammelan, to be held on January 28, Sunil Jogi, Jagdish Solanki, Sudip Bhola, Shashi Kant Yadav, Vishnu Saxena will also take part.
