1/31/2021 10:55:20 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Jan 31: Mayor of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Chander Mohan Gupta on Sunday honoured actor and model Madhuri Raina as the ‘Rising Star of Jammu’ and said that her journey filled with difficulties and determination is an inspiration for budding artists in the Union Territory. Madhuri Raina, a migrant Kashmiri Pandit, whose family shifted from Valley to Jammu during the early 1990s leaving behind everything, has faced all the adversities in life to turn it around completely and has established herself as a famed, reputed model and actor in Bollywood. “It gives me immense joy to honour Miss Madhuri Raina who has been representing Jammu and Kashmir at the big screen for so long and has been doing outstanding work at it,” said the Mayor at a simple yet impressive felicitation program.
An established name in the field of modelling and acting, Madhuri has done many projects like short movies, web series, albums, prominent of them being Shokeen Jatti, Broken Feelings, Aashiqan de Sene Vich, Horror short movie, Chudail web series etc. Appreciating the hard work of Raina, the Mayor also extended his best wishes for her upcoming projects such as Fansi Lagni, Taaron Ke shehar, Fitoor, Dekh Lai etc which are ongoing. On the occasion, Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta also praised the parents of Madhuri Raina and said that the way they looked into the eye of adversities but still continued supporting their daughter in chasing her dreams is an exemplary tale of grit, courage and resilience. “Madhuri’s father Amar Deep Raina Ji who works as a transporter and her mother Sushma Raina Ji who is also a working woman, have led by example. Their journey from Kashmir where they lost everything to terrorism and then moving to Jammu, it was not easy for them to start again. However, they didn’t lose their hope and keep on struggling. The way they brought up their daughter, mentally preparing her to work hard and then giving her the unwavering wings to fly, is just amazing,” Mayor Gupta said.
