Life skills course organized by USEDC concludes

JAMMU, Feb 2: The 15 days life skills course organized by University Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Centre, University of Jammu in collaboration with Department of Lifelong Learning and Government Degree College, Reasi through online platform concluded with the valedictory function being organized on 24th January, 2021. The chief guest of the valedictory function Prof. Naresh Padha, Dean Academic Affairs, Coordinator, RUSA, University of Jammu, while speaking on the occasion impressed upon the need of skills in the present times. He further suggested that the students should focus on upgrading themselves to be market ready as there shall be lesser government jobs and those with skills only shall be able to survive the pressure of competition.
Prof. Padha also talked about the focus of New Education Policy 2020 on skills and Entrepreneurship, and the role of UESDC in updating the youth of the region in terms of enhanced skill set.
Earlier Kavita Suri, Director, DLL presented formal welcome address. While extending warm welcome to the Chief Guest and other dignitaries highlighted significance of this programme on survival skills of the students and how these can help them to reach to the top in their lives. Prof Chander Shekhar, Principal GDC, Reasi in his address expressed his gratitude with some beautiful poetic lines which were very inspirational for everyone present.
Mukesh Kumar, Coordinator, GDC, Reasi, shared his experience during the program. He presented a feedback on behalf of students and college and expressed his pleasure to see that such hand holdings and collaboration benefitted students living in the peripherals regions and such initiatives will help in reaching to the remotest areas of Jammu province. Three student representatives also gave the feedback on the occasion.
Alka Sharma, Convenor, UESDC, presented the formal vote of thanks and the programme was conducted by Pallavi Sachdeva, Course Coordinator, of the programme. The program was attended by the faculty and students of GDC Reasi.
