Budget exhibits Centre's commitment towards development, welfare of J&K: Nitish | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 3: The union budget 2021-22 truly exhibits that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Centre government is truly committed to the development of the union territory and welfare of its residents, Nitish Mahajan, Executive Member of BJP's Jammu and Kashmir unit said. Welcoming the union budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the parliament, Mahajan said that it is significant that an all-inclusive budget, dedicated to the welfare of all strata of the country was presented even under unprecedented situation due to the chaos caused by Coronavirus pandemic. "The union budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has been historic and goes on to show that the Centre government remains committed to the development and welfare of Jammu and Kashmir and its people," said Mahajan in a statement issued today. Mahajan also hailed the special package included in the budget for the Union Territory which also includes laying of new gas pipeline in Jammu and Kashmir. "The announcement of a new gas pipeline in Jammu and Kashmir is a significant development. Not only will this relieve the pressure on availability of domestic gas, but will also go a long way in helping to generate employment in the union territory," said Mahajan. "The decision to extend the centrally sponsored Ujjwala scheme, as part of Union government's plan to add 100 more districts of the country in next three years to the City Gas Distribution Network is also a historic development," he said. Mahajan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government is committed to the development of the Union Territory and this has reflected greatly in the budget. |
