JAMMU, Feb 8: The Jammu and Kashmir unit of Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray, distributed face masks and sanitisers to the students and teachers in several government and private schools including Govt school at Chakka Changarwa Jammu today.
Party President J&K Manish Sahni and President Mehila Wing Meenakshi Chhibber led the mask and sanitizer distribution campaign and reiterated their demand for corona vaccination on priority for students and teachers. Sahni said that he has decided to take up the demand of vaccination for students and teachers with Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor and in-charge for education department. He said that the low attendance in schools proves that the parents are still apprehensive to send their children to school. “The parents are scared of Corona virus as the threat of pandemic is far from over. The parents want that the government should have ensured the safety of students. Sahni said that “We have requested with a written appeal for an appointment for meeting with Advisor to Lt. Governor, Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar, We hope that our demand for vaccination will be agreed upon, soon, for the sake of safety of students and the teachers.“At the same time, parents are in a lot of trouble as most private schools have not restored transport facility for the students,” said Meenakshi Chibber.
