| Exposure visit of farmers conducted | | |

DODA, Feb 12: With a view to provide exposure to farmers in cultivation, processing and marketing of aromatic and medicinal plants, NABARD organised a three-day exposure visit for 25 farmers of district Doda and Ramban from 08 to 10 February 2021
One the first day, farmers visited lavender nurseries and distillation unit established by Sh. Bharat Bhushan a progressive farmer at Khleni Top, Doda who shared his success story with the farmers and guided the participants on preparation of field for nursery and distillation of lavender oil.
Officers from the Department of Floriculture and DDM, NABARD also guided the participants on importance of cash crops like lavender, marigold, rosemary etc. and how these cash crops can play an importance role in increasing the income of farmers. Thereafter, the farmers visited KVK, Doda for interaction with the scientists who also provided necessary input on cash crops and assured all necessary technical support to them in cultivation of such crops. |
