Jammu, Feb 21: Govt.college for women bhagwati nagar organised an online inter-college symposium competition on the theme"How to nurture your mother language". There was an over whelming response of students from various colleges.The student spoke on the given topic in various language like Gojri, Dogri, Punjabi. It was heartening to see students express their love for their mother language and suggest ways to propogae and develop them. Speaking on the occasion Principal of the college Prof.Minnie sharma said that the language are the most important way of keeping our culture alive often the direct translation of one language to another might not carry the same essence as it is in the source language. Then,the best way to know about a culture is to know the language.she said that knowing your mother tongue well is a matter of pride & vital in training the thinking & emotions of people. There were many participants. Bhannu pratap from SPMR College of commerce was adjudged as the best speaker. Second prize was awarded to Navjot singh from SPMR College of commerce.Neharika sharma from GCW Bhagwati nagar was awarded the third prize.
