Director FCS&CA reviews working of Department in Kathua, Basohli

JAMMU, Feb 21: Director Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Jammu (FCS&CA), Jatinder Singh today conducted an extensive tour of Kathua and Basohli and reviewed the departmental functioning and activities.
He was accompanied by Assistant Director Kathua, Haroon Naik, TSOs and other officials of FCS&CA department.
The Director took stock of host of activities including Aadhar Seeding, Implementation of doorstep delivery, sale of food grains through electronic point of sales machines, besides held extensive meeting with the FPS dealers.
While reviewing the status of Aadhar seeding in the district, Singh directed the officials to attain hundred percent target at individual level in coming days. It is mandatory to mention that department of FCS&CA has completely moved on online sales of food grains through electronic point of sales machines (e-POS) and no sales can take place through offline mode.
The Director also took stock of implementation of doorstep delivery in the district. He stressed that implementation of doorstep delivery is imperative to bring in transparency and accountability in the system, which has a pivotal role in implementation of National Food Security Act.
In view of upcoming festival of Shivrartri, Singh directed the department to maintain a complete vigil on the market rates of essential items, sweets, vegetables and fruit items.
He directed the department to work in close coordination with other line departments including Legal Metrology, Health, Revenue and Police department.
Singh directed the officials to monitor quality of food grains and its timely distribution under public distribution system.
He also chaired a meeting of the FPS dealers and listened to their demands & grievances. He assured early redress of the genuine grievances in a time bound manner.
