JAMMU, Feb 21: J&K Police is committed to encourage sports in all forms, said IGP Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh, while presiding as the chief guest for the prize distribution ceremony on the completion of a 10-day long Lawn Tennis tournament at J&K Police Gazetted Officers’ Mess, Gulshan Ground, Jammu organized by Jai Hind Sports Club.
Speaking on the occasion, IGP Jammu, Mukesh Singh hoped that the participants of this tournament would in future lead the JK Tennis team at the national level and even at the international level.
He said that Jammu and Kashmir has some brilliant coaches who could help shape up the budding talent in tennis.
He also appreciated the role of officers of BSF, CRPF and ED who were present at the court for the final match of the tournament.
The event was attended by sports enthusiasts and players who were all praise for the initiative and grand success of this tournament.
The matches were held under 4 different categories. The winners and runners-up for u-18 category were Aryan and Ranveer, Mens Doubles- Vikram Gupta/ Dhirendra Verma and Deepak Singh/Savant Koul, Above 35- Vikram Gupta and Pawan, Mens Singles -- Deepak Singh and Aaryaman respectively.
