Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, Feb 22: The road network connecting Kishtwar Cinema Hall to Shiv Mandir via Arya Basti to the New DC Office Kishtwar is in poor condition and is blocked from the last ten years due to pending land compensation.
"It is very unfortunate that we have projected the complaint of this road before the district administration several times and they always sent us home with the assurance that they will look into it- but till date the problem persists," Indu Bala told the media persons.
She said that there is a road to many ruler villages, but despite they live at stone distance from the National Highway- they are without road to its village since the land owners has blocked 50 meter stretch of the road and due to want of few thousand compensation- people are suffering.
As per the village inhabitants, the landowner are ready to lift the blockade if compensated added that but the district administration of Kishtwar is not ready to pay the compensation and there is no solution to the people's problem which is hanging since last 10 years.
Apart from them, Panchayat Lach Khazana Ward No 4 also informed that after approaching to the district administration, they are now helpless- since government fail to address the issue.
Another local, who is also a priest of the ancient Shiva temple, said that every year on the eve of festival of Shivratri, the leaders of Kishtwar gathered the people together here and make big claims to earn their political bread and butter making hoax assurances that it will be completed soon but six years have passed and work on this road has not been started till now due to which people are still deprived of road connection inside Kishtwar.
