SRINAGAR, Feb 22: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 58 new cases of Corona Virus following which the total number of positive cases reached 1, 25,925. As many as 10 districts of the union territory reported no fresh virus related case.
Srinagar district reported 17 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Baramulla district 15 cases, Jammu district nine cases, Budgam and Anantnag districts five cases each, Pulwama and Kishtwar districts two cases each and Kupwara, Kulgam & Shopian districts one case each. No fresh case was reported Udhampur, Rajouri, Doda, Kathua, Samba, Poonch, Ramban, Reasi, Bandipora and Ganderbal districts.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 58 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 11 from Jammu division and 47 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 25,925.
Moreover, 44 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including one from Jammu division and 43 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 25,925 positive cases, 735 are active positive, 1, 23,236 have recovered and 1,954 have died; 725 in Jammu division and 1,229 in Kashmir division.
Out of 50, 38,661 test results available, 49, 12,736 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 12, 68,616 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 34,056 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 735 in isolation and 1, 08,884 in home surveillance. Besides, 11, 22,987 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 26,794 positive cases, 322 active positive, 26,011 recovered, 461 deaths; Baramulla has 8,208 positive cases, 54 active positive, 7,979 recovered, 175 deaths; Budgam has 7,863 positive cases, 46 active positive, 7,698 recovered, 119 deaths; Pulwama has 5,837 positive cases, 39 active positive, 5,709 recovered, 89 deaths; Kupwara has 5,673 positive cases, three active positive, 5,574 recovered, 96 deaths.
"Anantnag has 4,990 positive cases, 37 active positive, 4,867 recovered, 86 deaths; Bandipora has 4,709 positive cases, 15 active positive, 4,632 recovered, 62 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,664 positive cases, 21 active positive, 4,596 recovered, 47deaths; Kulgam has 2,719 positive cases, 13 active positive, 2,652 recovered, 54 deaths and Shopian has 2,599 positive cases, 19 active positive, 2,540 recovered, 40 deaths," reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 25,169 positive cases, 108 active positive, 24,688 recovered, 373 deaths; Udhampur has 4,259 positive cases, 26 active positive, 4,176 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,876 positive cases, five active positive, 3,816 recovered, 55 deaths; Doda has 3,436 positive cases, one active positive, 3,371 recovered, 64 deaths; Kathua has 3,256 positive cases, 3,203 recovered, 53 deaths.
"Samba has 2,837 positive cases, seven active positive, 2,790 recovered, 40 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,735 positive cases, two active positive, 2,711 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,520 positive cases, 17 active positive, 2,479 recovered, 24 deaths; Ramban has 2,135 positive cases, 2,114 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,646 positive cases, 1,630 recovered, 16 deaths," reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 25,925 positive cases in J&K, 12,146 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
