Early Times Report

RAMKOT, (KATHUA), Feb 22: Assuring that the BJP led Government at the Centre is committed to resolve the hardships being faced by the daily wagers in the Union Territory, DDC Chairman Kathua, Col (Retd) Mahan Singh today assured PHE CP workers of Billawar that their demands including regularization would be met very soon.
Blaming the successive previous Governments in erstwhile State for the ill-treatment meted out to these employees, Col Singh said BJP-led Government had ensured relief for these protesting employees and all their demands would be met.
Gupta made these comments while interacting with a delegation of PHE CP workers of Billawar today which had called upon him, seeking his attention towards their genuine demands comprising non-payment of wages, regularization, for which they have been protesting since months now. N.D Tripathi, DDC member Nagrota Gujroo was also present on the occasion. The delegation members sought that their demands and problems be taken up with the Union Territory administration. These daily wagers also sought regularization, release of pending wages, implementation of Minimum Wages Act in J&K on Central pattern, etc.
The senior BJP leader listened to their issues and assured that he will take up the matter with the Government for an early redressal.
“The government has already initiated the process of regularizing the daily wagers and casual labour in various Government departments,” he said, adding that the BJP Government will take every possible step for resolving their issues on priority basis.
“The successive Governments in the past have exploited the employees, conveniently ignoring the genuine issues faced by them. However, the BJP Government has always thought of their welfare. The UT administration is also working tirelessly to provide relief to the employees,” Col Singh told the delegation, adding that the Government will consider their demands at the earliest.
