JKSAC urge Delimitation Commission to reserve seats for them

Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 22: Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) today urged upon Ranjna Parkash Desia, Chairperson Delimitation Commission to carve out two constituencies for DPs.
Addressing the meeting Gurdev Singh President JKSAC alongwith Dwarka Nath Khajuria said that the Commission has completed the task of data collection process to carve out the new constituencies on the basis of 2011 census and are likely to come to J&K to seek the suggestions of various political parties for the demarcation of the constituencies.
Expressing his concern Gurdev Singh said that despite of several representations made by DPs in this regard no feedback has been taken from them yet.
He said that DPs were very hopeful that reorganization act of 2019 will take care of their long awaiting legitimate demand to de-freeze the 8 assembly seats out of remaining 24 reserved for people of POJK as the same has been captivated all along since their migration without any logic and justification.
He further said the DPs were crying since their migration to defreeze their share of seats to raise their voice in the legislature with regard to their settlement which is still incomplete and insufficient, but unfortunately the people at the helms of the affairs paid no attention towards this democratic right of DPs and were left at the mercy of those whom they voted to power and they never care to raise their legitimate human issue concerning their rehabilitation. Others who spoke in the meeting are Tarlok Singh Tara, Des Raj (Ex Sarpanch), Jasbir Singh (Panch), Ch. Shail Singh, Bhagwan Singh and Hardial Singh.
