Jal Shakti Department organizes mega workshop on JJM at Ramnagar

UDHAMPUR, Feb 24: A mega workshop on water Sanitation and Hygiene was organized by Jal Shakti Department Udhampur under District Jal Jeevan Mission, here at Town Hall Ramnagar.
The programme was held in collaboration with project implementing agency Jay Kay Women Welfare Society,Jammu, was attended by Block Development Council, chairperson, Ramnagar Des Raj, President Municipal Committee, Ramnagar, Makhan Lal, District Development Council member, Ramnagar-II, Mool Raj, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Naresh Kumar, Councillors, Sarpanches and other Sectoral officers of different departments, besides Anganwari workers, Asha workers and civil society members.
Superintendent Engineer, Jal Shakti Hydraulic Circle Udhampur, P P Arora, who is also the member Secretary of Jal Jeevan Mission, in his welcome address and threw light on water sanitation and hygiene. He informed that Jal Jeevan Mission is a centrally sponsored scheme, launched by the Government of India, with the objective to provide 100% tap water 'Har Ghar Nal Se Jal' to all households. The SE appealed to all the participants to keep their surroundings clean and also motivate others in maintaining the cleanliness. Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti, Taj Chowdhary also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of maintaining water, sanitation and hygiene.
