VC KVIB inaugurates exhibition under NSSH at Samba

SAMBA, Feb 24: Vice Chairperson (VC) J&K Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB) inaugurated 7 day-long exhibition under National Scheduled Caste-Scheduled Tribe Hub (NSSH) at Samba today.
VC KVIB Dr Hina Shafi Bhat was flanked by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Samba Suram Chand Sharma, Secretary/CEO KVIB Rashid Ahmad Qadri and senior officers of KVIB and line departments. As many as 25 SC-ST unit holders shall exhibit and sell their products in the exhibition.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Bhat informed that NSSH has been introduced by the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Government of India to develop an entrepreneurial ecosystem among the SC-ST workforce. She advised the concerned departments/agencies to collaborate and ensure that benefits of various schemes meant for underprivileged class trickle down to the deserving peoples.
Lauding the efforts of J&K KVIB in employment generation, ADDC Samba felt that there is a need to utilize energy and enthusiasm of educated unemployed in establishment of micro industrial ventures.
He underscored the need for active involvement of line departments and Banks to encourage and extend hand holding support to aspirant SC ST entrepreneurs for establishment of micro industries.
He further stated that this exhibition shall provide a platform to SC ST MSME unit holders to exhibit and sell their products at reasonable and profitable rates. Earlier, Dr Hina Shafi Bhat visited all the stalls erected in the exhibition, where SCST MSMEs had displayed their exhibits to showcase and sell them. The products displayed to exhibit and sell include readymade garments, food items, sanitary fittings, furniture, shoes, track suits and some SC-ST institutions.
