CII J&K holds annual session

Jammu, Feb 25: Confederation of Indian Industry held its annual session and elected its new office bearers for the year 2020-21.
On the sidelines of its annual session a webinar on “Reboot J&K - Seeking New Possibilities” was held. During the webinar officers of various departments from J&K administration addressed the participants. The participants were welcomed by chairman CII J&K Farooq Amin, CEO Kanwal Foods.
Naveen Choudhury, Principal Secretary, Agriculture and Production Department, Government of UT of J&K invited the industrialists from CII to come forward and take advantage in food processing and to set up CA stores across J&K and look for opportunities in setting up stores.
Starting the session Anoo Malhotra, MD JKTPO and director Industries Jammu highlighted various provisions of the new Industrial policy, about how GST linked incentives will be provided, capital incentive on substantial expansion, capital interest subvention, and all the new investments made after April 2019 will be included for new industry incentives.
Speaking on the occasion MD JK SIDCO, Mohammad Harun said that we will ensure solvency issues are resolved by banks and the Government will ensure the issues are addressed within time to reboot J&K’s economy.
R S Sharma, Additional Secretary, Housing and Urban Development while speaking said that we are working on two smart cities projects, metro rail projects and are trying to create procedures easy for businesses. He said that urban local bodies are working on giving building plan approvals outside industrial areas on a unifying building permissions code which will be online. He also said that we are trying to provide free internet at most of the places in J&K to start from Srinagar and Jammu.
The webinar was attended by CII members, industrial fraternity from different states and professionals from other sectors. Jammu Kashmir25th February 2020.
