Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan: Special Camp organized to sensitize drivers

RAJOURI, Feb 25: To root out the menace of drug abuse from the district, the District administration Rajouri on Thursday organized special camp to sensitize the driver community about the ill effects of drug abuse on health and the society.
The sensitization programmes were organized under the overall supervision of the District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh Kumar Shavan. The awareness programme was organized under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan with the help of District Social Welfare officer Rajouri, Chief Medical Officer Rajouri and Transport office Rajouri. A huge gathering of the driver community beside the general public participated in the camp.The participants were appealed to adopt a sensitive approach while dealing with various situations of life and not indulge in drug addiction which badly affects the socio-economic condition of the society.
The participants were told that besides de-addicting the drug users,there is a dire need to address the major reasons which provoke the youth to take drugs.They were also urged upon to work religiously and neck to neck to eliminate drug abuse from the district and make the Rajouri and Nasha Mukt district.
The participants who are especially the drivers were urged upon to wake up and keep themselves away from the influence of addictions and channelise their energies in a positive direction.
