Mayor, team visits RRL complex

Jammu, Feb 25: Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation alongwith Surinder Chowdhary Councilor of ward no.29 Shakti Nagar area visited High School being run by Indian Institute of Integrated Medical (IIIM) situated within the Regional Research Laboratory Complex Canal Road Jammu on the request of School Management.
S. Harvinder Singh Chief Transport Officer alongwith field staff of transport & sanitation wing of JMC, Superintending Engineer of RRL, Anita Wazir, Principal, Anju Tandon, Rakesh Dogra and other staff members of school, Atul Bakshi and other prominent inhabitants of ward no. 29 also accompanied the Mayor during the tour. Mayor was apprised by the school management that the nallah flowing from Bakshi Nagar area towards Canal side and passing near the school has been partially broken.
Due to which wall of the School from one side has been damaged causing great havoc & danger for the students, staff members as well as inhabitants residing at RRL quarters.
Besides this, there is every possibility of spreading of epidemic due to blockage of Nallah which is creating very foul smell in the whole complex of IIIM and the engineering wing of RRL has been trying its best to cover the Nallah by cemented slab.
Mayor listened to them with great patience and assured that the rest portion be got constructed/renovated by the concerned Engineering Division of Jammu Municipal Corporation in a phased manner and also directed the CTO to deploy its men & machinery for complete disilting of the Nallah at an earliest so that all the polythenes, garbage, waste material be removed and water can flow smoothly onwards and also directions were issued on spot to the supervisor staff of health section JMC to maintain better sanitation in and around the site on routine basis.
School management expressed great gratitude to the Mayor for visiting the complex & listening to their grievances and assured that they will fully cooperate with the JMC in all the activities being undertaken for keeping the area neat, clean & green.
