Science Club GDC Ramnagar celebrates National Science Day

JAMMU, Feb 25: To inculcate the scientific knowledge and research aptitude amongst the students, Science Club of GDC Ramnagar celebrated National Science Day 2021 with theme "Science for the people and people for the Science".
The celebration focused at the development of interest and scientific thinking amongst the students. The welcome address was delivered by Prof Suresh Kumar Dogra, HOD Physics who also motivated the students to think critically and experimentally for all the natural processes taking place around them.
Then, the event started with the speeches and presentations by the students of the college. The students namely Aishwarya Rajput, Neha Thakur, Naman Koushal, Diksha Mahajan, Nancy Sharma, Suhani Gupta and Vidushi Dhiman participated in the seminar and expressed their views on the various fields of science and technology like Science in everyday life, role of women in the field of Science, Importance of Science during Covid 19, Science and medical field, Biography of Scientist like APJ Abdul Kalam etc.
Convener Science Club Ritika Mahajan, HOD Chemistry presented her presentation on the topic "Nanotechnology and its Applications" and demonstrated how the world of small particles has found its applications in various fields like medical world, cosmetics, water purification, food packaging etc.
Ujwal Gupta discussed about the various avenues available for the science students after graduation.
Gulam Rassol demonstrated the various techniques to predict the earthquake and its possible measures and precautions.
Udhey Bhanu, principal GDC Ramnagar also discussed the various aspects, avenues and importance of scientific aptitude among the science students.
He urged the students to work hard and think critically. He also gave the examples of various students from rural background of UT who have excelled in the field of science and are known worldwide. At the last vote of thanks was delivered by Brinder Kumar HOD Zoology.
