MENDHAR, Feb 25: With an aim to promote communal harmony in the region, District Police Poonch today organized a 'Mehfil-e-Mushaira' at Police Station Mendhar.
Local poets and artists drawn from different parts of the district mesmerized the large gathering.
Large number of audiences drawn from all walks of life encouraged the artists with repeated applauses.
Prominent among the poets who performed on the occasion included Bashrat Khan, Sarder Javid Khan Javid, Imtiaz Naseem Hashmi, Tahir Mehmood and others. Shawls and cash reward was also given to all the participants by SDM Mendhar Dr Sahil Jandyal
SDPO Mendhar, ZA Jafri while speaking on the occasion underscored the objectives of organizing such programme. He said that J&K Police's endeavour is to provide platform to the talented players, singers and artists to display their talent, besides channelizing the energy of the youth so as to exploit their full potential. |
