Early Times Report
VIJAYPUR, Feb 25: The construction work of upgrading the road from Vijaypur to Ramgarh SM Pur to make a double lane has been hanging in the balance since the last several years.
The black topped road under the first phase from Vijaypar to the town of Ramgarh has been uprooted from several places and pits on the road have developed.
PWD was not able to complete the construction work of the road within the stipulated time, but the department is replenishing patches on the under-construction road which has been cleared by the department, however the department had to put double layer black topping on the road
The drains were to be built on both sides, but the department has left the work in the balance, the department could not complete the road even in three years. Former sarpanch Tajinder Singh has said that the department failed to build S M Pur road from Ramgarh. He said that the work of expanding this road started in 2018 but, it has been three years since the works on road started, but couldn't complete yet.
He said that due to lack of road, people have to face difficulties. On this occasion, local resident Nanak Singh said that the construction of the Rampur to SM Pur road is hanging in the balance. He said that there is a delay in the construction of the road by the department and it is a very important road as it will give hassle free journey to the Dargah of Baba Chambaliyal. The Dargah has an international importance where an annual fair is organised. He has urged upon the district administration and the concerned department to complete this construction.
Border Welfare Chairman Avinash Chaudhary has said that the work of making the road from Ramgarh to SM Pur double lane was started which was to be built at a cost of Rs 18 lakhs, which was laid by Parliament Jugal Kishore and former Minister Chandar Prakash Ganga but the department has not completed the road work even after three years have passed.
In this regard, when we spoke to Darshan Kumar XEn PWD, he said that the construction work of the road started under CRF, funds sanctioned under the scheme have over, that's why road works are pending.
