Accurate and authen-
tic knowledge of each
language comes from its scientific study but every language has its own linguistics. The subject of linguistics is known as a global subject. Apart from studying language, linguistics is also an important subject for studying the writing, reading, pronunciation, understanding, grammatical knowledge of any language, development of dialects and grammatical and cultural changes in language.
Study of the subject
In the present age, for the study of the subject of linguistics, research works at the levels of language psychology, sociolinguistics, geographical study of language, linguistic teaching etc. are being carried out. In the early 20th century, Saussure, a prominent European linguist, laid the foundations of modern linguistics. According to Saussure, the prevalent and colloquial form of language is important for the study. Linguistics tells us about the origin of language, the main sources of language, the rules of language, sentence structure and grammatical categories. Language is not only the main source of communication but also the main source of functioning in today's world. Every region of the world has its own language in science, technology, communication, education, law, etc.
The subject of linguistics is very important for the preparation of language dictionaries as it is very important to study the language of any language at the scientific level. The subject of linguistics is very important for studying and translating vocabulary related to the subjects of information science, technology, physics etc. This topic is very important for proper knowledge and translation of legal terminology or for proof reading. This topic is also important for study and analytical work in the fields of Speech Pathologist, Organization Data Management, Marketing Executive Officer etc. Knowledge of the subject of linguistics is essential for the psychological study of language in the forensic laboratories and intelligence wings of the police department. Linguistics is also helpful for the critical study of linguistic works in any field.
Educational institutions
The subject of linguistics has become very interesting as well as important nowadays. In the age of modern technology (IITs, IMTs) there is no field where work is done without language.
There is no field related to computer in which the subject of linguistics is not experienced but linguistics plays an important role in all kinds of mechanical field.
Contemporary needs
The departments established in the name of language do not have the knowledge of a single language but they have the knowledge of the literary genres of any language. In order to analyze the language and dialects, it is necessary to set up departments of Punjabi linguistics and Punjabi lexicography in colleges and universities, not related to Punjabi language. Compared to other countries, India's approach and policy towards scientific study of languages is not very good, while the development of languages abroad is very high. Most of the linguistic analysts in India have been confusing the Punjabi language with literature.
