WSC of GDC Kathua organizes workshop on Women Security

KATHUA, Feb 26: Women Study Centre (WSC) of Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua organized a day-long workshop on Women Security. The workshop was attended by a huge gathering of college students.
Dr Rachna, Director, Women Study Centre, GDC Kathua welcomed the Principal, the chief guest of the event and Sanjeevan Jyoti, main resource person for sparing their valuable time for this workshop with the students.
Prof Assaram Sharma, Principal GDC Kathua, the chief guest of the occasion applauded the efforts of students and stressed upon the need of such awareness campaigns in creating a safe environment for women. He appreciated the working of women study centre for organising such awareness programs in the college campus to sensitize students about the various problems and their measures to come out of it.
During interaction Sanjeevan Jyoti the main resource person spoke about the importance of physical and mental health of the girls so they may face the various problems in their day to day life. She said that the girl should be so aware that she may understand the sign language of the various culprits of eve teasing, domestic violence, sexual assault and harassment. Awareness was also created to tackle these situations through legal means. The programme was conducted under the supervision of Dr Rachna, Director Women Study Centre GDC Kathua.
