ADC Jammu chairs DAC meeting on PC & PNDT Act

JAMMU, Feb 26: The meeting of District Advisory Committee (DAC) Jammu on PC PNDT Act-94 was held today under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Satish Sharma, here at DC Office.
During the meeting, opinion and advice of all the committee members was sought in detail for new registration and renewal of registration of various private ultrasound clinics.
During the meeting, nine files of private facilities for their new registration, which were recommended by the Inspection Committee, for their registration under PC PNDT Act-94 and Rules were recommended, while the committee gave approval to eight files of registration for ultrasound diagnostic centers.
The committee also approved one case of renewal of registration while two cases of renewal were kept pending for approval of the Chairperson of DAC (Deputy Commissioner).
The ADC instructed the concerned officers to keep vigil on private ultrasound centres to check violation of the PC & PNDT Act. He further asked the CMO to ensure private centres prominently display the rate list for various diagnostic tests and warning against sex determination in at least three languages with pictorial signs. He asked for enhanced vigil on the clinics and to undertake regular inspections of their facilities.
Among others the meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Jammu, J P Singh; Medical Superintendent, Gandhi Nagar Hospital, Dr. Indra Bhatyal; Pediatrician, Dr. Mahesh Chander Gupta; Gynecologist, Dr. Naresh Khajuria; District Social Welfare Officer Ajay Salaan and other concerned officers.
