Mehbooba realizes her 'mistake' of pointing finger towards judiciary
2/26/2021 11:17:38 PM
Early Times Report
jammu, Feb 26: Two days after pointing finger at the judiciary, Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) president and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti today realized her 'mistake' and toned-down her stand against the judicial system.
"No letup in GOI's persecution of Kashmiri mainstream.Quite clear that PDP's @parawahid, Naeem Akhtar and Sartaj Madni are jailed for believing in its vision of peace with dignity. Bail is the rule, jail is the exception. We expect better from the judiciary.", Mehbooba posted through her twitter handle this afternoon.
PDP president was reacting to rejection of bail application of her close-aide and detention of party's ideologue Naeem Akthar and her uncle Sartaj Madni.
After Waheed Parra's bail application was rejected on February 23, Mehbooba Mufti, on the very next day, had pointed finger towards the judicial system of the country. She had compared Parra's case with that of Disha Ravi.
In the month of January Sartaj Madni, who is maternal uncle of PDP president Mehbooba Mufti, party's ideologue Naeem Akthar and Peerzada Mansoor Hussain were detained by police. Peerazada Mansoor was released after some days. Within days after his release, Peerzada Mansoor, one close-aide of Mehbooba Mufti, quit the PDP.
As far as Parra is concerned, he has been detained by the Criminal Investigation Department (Kashmir) after his release by an NIA court on January 9. The NIA had arrested Parra on November 25, 2020 in a separate case related to terrorism.
