Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 1: The Lawyers Action Committee (LAC) had a meeting with Amar Khstriya Rajput Sabha today. A delegation of the Lawyers Action Committee comprising its convener HC Jalmeria, Rakesh Singh Slathia, Amit Gupta, Kunal Singh Chib and Gourab Sharma visited office of Rajput Sabha and Submitted memorandum to its President Pavitter Singh (Sessions Judge Retd) through Vice President Kuljit Singh Jamwal in the presence of Yuva Rajput leader Pawan Singh Manhas. The Lawyers delegation, after detailed discussion, impressed upon the Rajput Sabha to raise the demand of shifting back Registration work from Revenue Officers to Judicial Officers, Reopening of closed Consumer Courts, Reopening of Human Rights Commission, Accountability Commission, Commissioner Forum under RTI. The Rajput Sabha leaders expressed deep concern over these issues and assured the Lawyers delegation that the Sabha would raise these issues with LG and also at other forums besides apprising the general public. The Rajput Sabha would also participate in joint action programmes of the Lawyers Action Committee on these issues.
The Lawyers Action Committee after carrying 119 days long dharna successfully for opening of Courts, is carrying on the struggle for resolution of other issues which have emerged from repealing of J&K State made laws and resultant closure of justice delivery forums which existed earlier. Due to the closure of Consumer Courts, Human Rights Commission, Accountability Commission, Commissioner Forum under RTI, the people are suffering and they are denied justice. The shifting of Registration work from Judicial officers to Revenue officers, has caused long delays in registration process besides creeping in of corruption. The people are the great sufferers besides the lawyers.
