Div Com Jammu reviews arrangements for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2021

JAMMU, Mar 1: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today reviewed the arrangements for Shri Amarnath Ji yatra 2021, here at a meeting of Heads of the concerned departments.
The meeting was attended by Director, Health; Director FCS&CA; Additional CEO, SASB; SSP National Highways; SSP Traffic Jammu; Joint Director Information; Deputy Director Tourism; ADC Jammu; besides senior functionaries of JPDCL, Jal Shakti, PWD, JMC, Police, Hospitality and Protocol and other concerned, while Deputy Commissioners of Kathua, Samba, Udhampur and Ramban alongwith other concerned officers attended the meeting through video conferencing. Threadbare discussions were held on various issues pertaining to accommodation for pilgrims, identification of Langer sites, security arrangements and publicity. The Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned officers to put in place all the necessary arrangements well in time. The Deputy Commissioners informed that sites for langer, halting points have been identified in their respective districts. The Div Com directed the Deputy Commissioner Kathua to establish a welcome centre, medical centre, control room at Lakhanpur. Necessary directions were also issued for installation of water coolers at entry points, besides provision of regular water, power supply and creation of sanitation units at different locations en-route. The DC Ramban informed that sites for halting points, langers, Shelter Sheds have been identified in the district. He also informed that the district administration has constituted 18 multi member Quick Response Teams (QRTs) in the district which will work in any emergency situation. The Div Com asked the DC Ramban for creating additional accommodation facilities for pilgrims which will help in case of road closure.
