Nehru Yuva Kendra Rajouri organises mega awareness programme

RAJOURI, Mar 2: Nehru Yuva Kendra Rajouri, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India today organized an awareness program on the themes "Catch the Rain" and "Covid-19 Vaccination" here at Government Higher Secondary School, Dodason Bala, Block Planager.
SDM Thannamandi was the chief guest on the occasion. Among others present in the programme were Chairperson BDC Planager Shanaz Kouser; Block Medical Officer, Dr. Farooq Mir; Teams from Irrigation and I&FC, Agriculture, Medical Departments, Principal and other Staff of GHSS Dodason Bala.
The teams from Health Medical Department, Agriculture and I&FC demonstrated their activities and generated awareness regarding 'Catch the Rain' and COVID-19 Vaccination.
The Chief Guest appealed to the general public to conserve water and start learning about Rain Water Harvesting in general and Rooftop Rainwater Harvesting Structures in particular. She also urged the youth to become torch bearers for the society in 'Catch the Rain' Campaign. She also appealed to the masses to cooperate with the health department in carrying out of COVID-19 Vaccination.
Team from the Agriculture Department told the general people about the dropping levels of ground water and the ways to recharge it. They also elaborated about various means through which water can be used for farming and agriculture such as water sprinklers, drip irrigation etc. The students of the school also expressed their views on the subject. They also presented cultural items depicting the theme of the program.
The program was conducted by Farooq Choudhary, President, Dodason Bala Lower Youth Club.
