DC, SSP Ramban attend Block Diwas at Batote

RAMBAN, Mar 3: To expedite on- spot grievances' redressal mechanism at door step besides improving service delivery to the public by the different departments, the Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam presided over the weekly Block Diwas camp held at Batote today.
Similar camps were also held at four other designated locations including at Ramban, Banihal, Sangaldan and Ukhral in the district.
BDC Chairman, Batote Rajeshwar Kumar, SSP, Haseeb-ur-Rehman, DDC, Member, Jagveer Dass, CEO, PDA, Sachin Dev Singh Jamwal, ACD, Zameer Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Dhirender Sharma, and various other senior officers from different departments besides PRIs, MC members and prominent citizens attended the Block Diwas.
The DC listened patiently to the issues raised by the public during block diwas and sought redressal of the same from concerned officers.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC gave a brief resume of initiatives taken by the district administration to redress the public grievances besides improving the public delivery system.
Responding to the employment issue raised during interaction session due to in Batote area due to the diversion of traffic through Chanani- Nashri tunnel, the Deputy Commissioner constituted a committee headed by ACR to look into creation of opportunities in the tour and travel sector.
The DC directed the AD Tourism to explore the possibilities to accelerate economical activities under tourism sector in Ramban besides providing logistic support to local youth to start their livelihood at Sanasar and Patnitop.
Replying on the issues pertaining to PDA, CEO assured the public that he shall be propose certain projects to boost the tourism activities in Batote and catchment area.
Earlier, PRIs and other speakers from Block Batote including panchyat, Thopal, Chakwa, Dharmoond, Bomwari, Sana, Sanasar, Rakhjrogh and Shampa apprised the DC about their issues relating to their basic needs including augmentation of power and water supply infrastructure, Extension of Aadhar enrollment drive, enhancement of wages of MGNREGA workers, ambulance alongwith driver for Sanasar, water sports activities in Baghlihar Dam, renovation of schools, shortage of staff in health and education institutions, up-gradation of link roads, sanction of PMAY houses, solar lights for Panchayats, repair of hand pumps, employment for youth in ongoing national projects and other issues of public interest.
The DC directed officers to resolve all the issues on priority which are pertaining to their respective department besides assuring people that their rest of issues shall be taken up with the government.
In his address the SSP sought support from public to eradicate means of drugs from the society.
