Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 3: The just concluded three-day visit of Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad has not only shaken his own party but also created confusion among J&K based BJP leaders- who are anxiously waiting for his (Azad’s) next move.
Wishing anonymity, a senior BJP leader said that Azad’s tour has confused local party leadership because they were unaware of Congress leader’s next course of action in J&K in general and Jammu region in particular. “All J&K based BJP leaders were unaware of cordial relations between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Azad. It was only both Prime Minister and Azad praised each-other in Rajya Sabha that J&K BJP leaders know relations between two leaders”, he said and added that the recent statement of Azad in praise of Prime Minister has further created confusion among BJP leaders.
After praising the Prime Minister during the function of Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust at Jammu on Sunday Azad has tried to address his Jammu constituency. Azad is very much aware that without support of Jammu it is rather impossible for him to start his next inning in politics.
J&K BJP leaders have reasons to be worried because the Prime Minister, during the farewell speech of Azad in the Rajya Sabha, has made it clear that he would not allow him (Azad) to be retired from politics. “Base of Azad politics is J&K, especially Jammu region so BJP leaders are confused”, sources said, adding, “Furthermore Azad’s proximity with the Prime Minister would also expose local BJP leaders before the central leadership”.
