KISHTWAR, Mar 4: A delegation of members of senior citizens Council Kishtwar today called on Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pawan Parihar and projected various issues of public importance.
The members sought upgrading of the infrastructure at various tourism potential sites, including development and beautification of prestigious Chowgan ground.
The delegation demanded laying of pavement tiles on footpath around the ground, installation of Gymnastic & other recreational Instruments like Beam, Ladders Sea Saw, fountain Park, CCTV Cameras, construction of toilets and wash rooms at convenient places, deployment of full time Chowkidar to facilitate the visitors, besides development of Gandolla from Kalam Sathar to Chowgan ground. The delegation further demanded promotion of Hargad, Menthlan, Bindraban, Bhandarkoot and Kalamsathar as tourist destinations.
They further sought measures to keep check on drug addicts, alcoholics at places of historical and cultural importance, besides sought restriction on the entry of vehicles inside Chowgan and other recreational places.
The ADC, who is also the Chief Executive Officer Kishtwar Development Authority (KDA) gave a patient hearing to their demands and assured their redressal in time bound manner.
The ADC further said that the beautification of the Chowgan ground in particular and upgradation of the tourism sector in Kishtwar is main motive of KDA and district administration will take all necessary initiatives in this regard. |
