JAMMU, Mar 4: Chairman OBC Deptt J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), Adv Suresh Kumar Dogra said that the enumeration of the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in the Census of 2021 is very compulsory to know the strength of these people.
So, there should be a separate column in the coming census of 2021.
Addressing a meeting held here today at PCC Headquarters, Shaheedi Chowk, Adv Suresh Kumar Dogra further said that already these poor people from weaker sections are fighting for their legal and constitutional rights for decades in Jammu and Kashmir, adding that several social organizations brought their demands into the notice of Modi led government but this government never listened to the grievances of these underprivileged people.
He said that they always remained victim of step-motherly behaviour of the government and it is again when caste based census is declared in the country but this innocent class is again kept out from the upcoming caste based census.
The OBC Deptt Chairman of PCC questioned the Modi led Government for not taking up the issue seriously to include the weaker sections in the column of enumeration.
The others who were present in the meeting included Som Nath Verma, Jagdish Raj Kashyap, Sat Pal Kashyap, Sunil Bedi, Sumant, Sanjay Kumar, Surinder Kumar, Raj Kumar and Surjit Kumar. |
