Udhampur organizes webinar on COVID -19 vaccination drive

Udhampur, Mar 4: Field Outreach Bureau ( FOB), Udhampur, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India organized a webinar on “COVID-19 Vaccination drive” in District Reasi, Jammu & Kashmir.
The webinar focused on the potential acceptance of COVID-19 Vaccination among the healthcare workers in the district and the progress made in the vaccination drive throughout the district.
In her introductory address, Neha Jalali, Deputy Director, Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB) J&K and PIB Jammu said that the biggest aim of conducting these webinars is to spread awareness among the masses related to the COVID-19 vaccination and to clear the doubts if any by interacting with the experts available during the webinar.
She also said that ROB J&K and its field units across the UT of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have been vanguard from the very first day of the pandemic spreading awareness be that the COVID 19 appropriate behaviour or this vaccination using social media and other platforms.
In his Keynote address, Rajinder Kumar Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Reasi gave a brief overview of “Role of District Administration in COVID19 vaccination process in Reasi”.
He said that COVID 19 Vaccination process started on 16th January, 2021 in district Reasi like other parts of the country and the first phase, Health Care Workers were targeted for COVID 19 Vaccination, he added.
Chief Medical Officer, Reasi, Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma, spoke about the efforts of health department Reasi for streaming the COVID-19 vaccination process.
He said that despite various challenges, the district administration and the health department were able to manage it.
He also appealed people to come forward and register in COVID-19 portal for vaccination.
During the Webinar, District Immunization Officer, Reasi, Dr. Usha Kiran Sidha said that the district has made a good progress in COVID 19 vaccination among the healthcare workers and the percentage is satisfactory. She added that for awareness regarding the COVID-19 vaccination, various IEC activities are being taken up and media has a great role to play.
