Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 4: Known for his lively life-style, former chief minister and president of National Conference Dr Farooq Abdullah enthralled the gathering during reception of the marriage of grand-daughter of Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh. Not only Dr Abdullah danced on an old Hindi song himself during the reception, he even compelled Capt to dance with him.
Seharinder Kaur, who is the daughter of Amarinder Singh’s son Raninder Singh, got married to Aditya Narang, son of Delhi-based businessman Devin Narang.
Dr Farooq Abdullah along with other dignitaries attended marriage function.
A video circulated in the social media in which Dr Farooq Abdullah was dancing on Hindi song “Aaj Kal Tari Mairay Pyar ………….”. After dancing along for some seconds, Dr Farooq then went towards Capt Amarinder and compelled him to dance with him.
Interestingly when both Capt Amarinder Singh and Dr Farooq Abdullah were dancing together the background song was giving a political message also.
Earlier another video of this marriage was viral in the social media in which Capt Amarinder Singh sung ‘Suhag’. He sang a Punjabi ‘Suhag’ song at the wedding celebration of his grand-daughter Seharinder Kaur, as he sat next to the just-married couple and wife Praneet Kaur. Suhag is a genre of folk songs sung as part of wedding rituals in Punjab.
