Schedule , procedure for election to office bearers of J&K High Court Bar Association fixed

Jammu, Mar 6: A meeting of the Presidium was held today under the chairmanship of Ved Raj Wazir. It has been unanimously decided to fix the schedule and the procedure for election to the office bearers of J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu. The schedule includes the date of issuance of Election Notification on 01-04-2021,last date of filing application form10-04-2021, date of withdrawal of the nomination15-04-2021, date of election if needed 24-04-2021.
The holding of election is subject to at least 50% strength or 1500 bar members should have deposited their subscription fee by or before the date of nomination withdrawal, failing which the Election process would be deferred and decision taken accordingly.
The voters list will be prepared as per the decision taken by the Special General House and will be restricted to the eligible voters as per the decision of the Special General House Meeting dated 12-01-2021.
It has also been unanimously decided that 50% monthly subscription fee waived off of the members whose practice is less than 10 years prior to the date of Election Notification.
S. Surinder Singh, Adv & former president ( Member of the Presidium) is nominated as Returning Officer to initiate and hold the process of Election. He may associate any member/ member(s) to assist him in holding the election process.
All the members of the presidium resigned forthwith and powers will be vested to the Returning Officer who will make arrangement for running the affairs of Bar Association till the new team takes over.
