Workshop on international womens day held

Jammu, Mar 7: A three days’ workshop was organized in connection with the celebration of International Womens’ Day 2021 by NSS unit in collaboration with women development cell of Govt Degree College Ramnagar under the guidance of principal Udhey Bhanu.
The objective of the workshop was to create awareness and achieve gender equality among the masses. On day one, an awareness programme on gender equity, early girl marriage and breastfeeding was held at Anganwadi centre Thaplal (adopted village) where sarpanch, panchs and around 100 local women were present. NSS volunteers presented skits and poems on various burning social issues there.
On day 2nd, an intra-college symposium was held on the topic “Women Empowerment: Opportunities and Challenges”. Shruti Modi bagged first prize, Nancy Sharma bagged second prize and Kavita Sharma stood third. Swarna Devi, Shoba Rani and Divya Puri were the judges.
On day 3rd, a valedictory function was held to celebrate womenhood. Smt Juhi Manhas, Vice Chairman District Development Council was the chief guest while Shakti Devi (sarpanch Kirmoo), Geeta Devi (sarpanch Bassi) and Kanta Devi (sarpanch Amroh) were the guests.
