Snow clearance work on Anantnag-Magran-Inshan road going on at war footing
40000 souls living in Marwah, Warwan will get access to rest of UT

JAMMU, Mar 7: The snow clearance work on the prestigious Anantnag-Margan Top-Inshan road connecting Warwan valley of Kishtwar District with the rest of the country is going on at war footing.
The clearance work will mark the early opening of this road which is considered as lifeline to 40000 souls living in Marwah and Warwan areas of Kishtwar District that remain cut off from the rest of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for six months during winter season due to heavy snowfall in the area.
As per the details available with Early Times, the District Administration Kishtwar along with District Administration Anantnag District had taken slew of measures for early restoration of the Inshan road so that the suffering of the people lockdown in the area due to snowfall could be eased out.
Speaking to Early Times, the official sources inform that the snow clearance work at Margan top will be completed within next two days if weather conditions remain fair.
The official said that the administration has fixed the target for making the road through by next week, adding that they are hopeful for early restoration of the road this year as compared to past practices when the road was cleared for traffic in the 2nd week of May every year.
Speaking to Early Times, DDC Chairperson Pooja Bhandari said that she is keeping a close tab on the progress of snow clearance work on Sinthan Top and Margan Top road, adding that opening of this road stretch will help them in two ways, one for smooth transportation of essential services beside will ease out the suffering of the people traveling on these roads.
She said that rural areas of Kishtwar District are on top priority of NC-Congress coalition in Kishtwar District, adding that there is need for joint efforts from all so as to help the people living in the far flung areas of Kishtwar District.
Bhandari says that she is in constant touch with various government officials.
Meanwhile, DC Kishtwar Ashok Kumar Sharma also inspected the progress of the snow clearance on Sinthan NH 244 highway and directed the NHIDCL authorities to expedite the pace of work to ensure the timely road connectivity.
